Early in life I was exposed to the needle work and quilting of my
paternal grandmother. I would marvel at their perfect stitches and beautiful patterns. Creating things by hand became a constant exploration as I learned to weave baskets and sew clothing, ultimately becoming a weaver and pattern designer.

Inspired by the intricate patterns found in nature, I create collages that blend textures and colors. Sewing becomes drawing at a slower and more thoughtful pace. Letting go of the rules of warp, weft, and repeating patterns, I allow each decision to feed the next. My raw materials come from my collections of notions, yarn, fabric, and ribbons. Through the act of sewing, I explore the interplay of material and form, as I strive to transform simple stitches into complex narratives.
