black and white - Muddy Creek Artists Guild.jpg

Before my senior year in high school, I was faced with the choice of whether to take a 4th year of math, or another art class.  I loved both - so I ran to my art teacher for advice.  She wisely suggested I take the 4th year of math.  That turned out to be sage advice.  I am retired from ARINC in Annapolis after 24 years there in Software Development. Now that I am retired from the path that the 4th year of math set me on, I've returned to that decision and made the other one. I live in Mayo with my husband of 51 years, Emma, our dog, and 27 chickens. We have raised 3 wonderful sons and have two adorable granddaughters. In addition to painting, I teach Pilates classes at Chesapeake Pilates Center.

In watercolor there is always an element of surprise, of chance.  The colors blend on the paper; the paints flow.   I am always exploring other media, but so far, watercolor is still the medium that takes my breath away.   I am a member of the Muddy Creek Artist Guild, the West River Artists, SoCo Arts Lab, and the Maryland Federation of Arts. I have exhibited paintings with all of these groups around Anne Arundel County. The teachers who have recently influenced my art work include Ken Cosgrove, Mary Anne Beckwith, Mark Mahaffey, and Joan Bell, the founder of the West River Artists group.
